“Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.” (Psalm 100:1-2)
Choir Sunday, celebrated on the 22nd of September, served as a profound reminder of the transformative power of music in worship, the significance of community within faith, and the vital importance of individual commitment to serving God and one another in the church. Under the inspirational leadership of Vicar Rev. Sunil Raj Philip, the existing choir members were rededicated and 15 members were newly dedicated and inducted to the Church choir.
On this special occasion, our Chorister, Ms. Aksa Mariam Shibu, delivered a heartfelt message that resonated deeply with the congregation. The choir’s performance of the song “En Prananum En Aayusum Nin Dhanam Mathramallo” beautifully illustrated the intimate connection between song and worship, reminding us all of the ways in which music can draw us closer to God. Throughout the worship service, choir members took on various responsibilities, including carrying the elements, leading intercessory prayers, and reading lessons.
Additionally, it was a moment of pride to recognize the outstanding attendance of dedicated choir members—Ms. Aksa Mariam Shibu, Hanna Thankam Shibu, and Mr. Adriel John Abraham. Their commitment is an example of faith in action, embodying the spirit of service that is so essential in a vibrant church community.
In conclusion, Choir Sunday was a beautiful and uplifting event that celebrated the harmonious blend of music, community, and faith. As we continue to worship together, let us remember the words of Psalm 100 and approach each service with gladness and joy in our hearts, eager to serve and glorify the Lord through our collective worship.
