The Church Committee, who served the CSI parish Sharjah along with the incoming church committee members for 2025-2026 met Rt. Rev. Dr. Malayil Sabu Koshy Cherian, the Bishop of Madhya Kerala Diocese in Sharjah, who is on a visit to the UEA from the 1st to the 8th of April. The members of the joint committee hosted a dinner with the Bishop and Kochamma on the 3rd of April in Sharjah.
Mr. Biju Thomas Ovanalil officially welcomed the gathering which was followed by the self-introduction of the committee members. Mr. Aby Jacob Thazhikayil, in his thanks message, listed out the achievements of the outgoing committee and praised God for the guiding Spirit on them and the support they received from Bishop Sabu Koshy Cherian during the tenure. Mr. Varghese P. Sam, in his speech representing the incoming committee, expressed willingness to serve the parish with a prayerful approach and with the guidance of the Madhya Kerala Bishop.
The members of the Parish Directory Committee and the fundraising committee of the Directory handed over a special copy of the Directory to the Bishop. Bishop congratulated the efforts to bring out the directory.
The committee members had a fruitful time of discussion with the bishop, which was initiated by Mr. Renchi Thomas Mathew, in which they presented their apprehensions, needs and commitment to the diocese. In turn, the bishop extended all the support for the growth of the CSI parish, Sharjah, especially to the efforts to seek the help of the authorities to build a new church building.
Mr. Evin Ben Thomas gave the vote of thanks. The meeting came to a close with the prayer and benediction of the Bishop.
