An exciting Interchurch Quiz Competition was held on 27th April, bringing together enthusiastic participants from various congregations in a vibrant display of knowledge and fellowship. The event was organized and conducted by Mr. Alex Abraham, who currently serves as an Editor at Gulf News.
The meeting began with the opening prayer by our Achen, Rev. Sunil Raj Philip and the welcome speech by Headmistress Mrs. Anila Philip.
The quiz focused on the books of Amos and Luke.
The event brought together participants from 10 different churches, fostering a spirit of unity, friendly competition, and biblical learning. St Thomas Evangelical Church, Sharjah Parish; Sharjah Marthoma Sunday School: St Gregorious Orthodox Church Sunday school- Sharjah, St Mary’s Knanaya Church, Sharjah; St Mary’s Jacobite Syrian Sunday School, Sharjah; St Martin’s Angican Church, Sharjah; The Marthoma Parish, Dubai; Church of South India Parish, Abu Dhabi; CSI Tamil Church, Sharjah; CSI Parish, Sharjah.
Our church was proudly represented by three students from our Sunday School: Ms. Avisha Ann Aji, Ms. Aleena Biju, and Ms. Irene Ann. These young participants demonstrated commendable dedication and enthusiasm in preparing for the event and performed admirably during the competition.
After a series of challenging rounds, the CSI Tamil Church, Sharjah emerged as the champions of the event. The Knanaya Church, Sharjah secured the position of first runner-up, followed by the Sharjah Marthoma Church, who finished as the second runner-up.
Trophies, medals, and certificates were awarded to the winners as a mark of appreciation and achievement. The prize distribution was carried out by Rev. Sunil Raj Philip, along with the Quiz Master Mr. Alex and the Head Mistress Mrs. Anila Philip, adding a special touch of encouragement and recognition to the occasion.
The event concluded with a note of thanks by Mrs. Nibi Mariam Cherian and a prayer by Mrs. Aleyamma for continued unity and growth among the interchurch community. It was truly a memorable day that celebrated knowledge, fellowship, and faith.
