The farewell meeting to honour our dear Vicar, Rev. Sunil Raj Philip, and Women’s Fellowship President, Mrs Nivi Susan George, was held on April 19, 2026, at 11:00 AM in Hall No. 5, immediately following the Divine Service. As Achen and Kochamma prepare to return to India on May 19th after three years of dedicated ministry, the gathering served as a loving celebration of their impactful leadership. The proceedings commenced with a solemn opening prayer by Mrs Preenu Sunil, followed by a warm welcome address by Mrs Deepa Ajish, who expressed deep gratitude for the spiritual guidance provided by Achen and Kochamma to the parish. Building on this spirit of appreciation, during her presidential address, Nivi Kochamma shared an inspiring message, urging the fellowship members to lead lives of compassion by supporting the needy and taking the initiative to welcome newcomers with an open heart.
The meeting continued with a session of felicitations where several members, including Mrs Subi Aji, Mrs Mercy Anil, Mrs Joyce Ebbey, Mrs Shino Sunil, Mrs Teeja Pribhu, Mrs Simi Susan Mathew, Mrs Sajitha Mathew, Mrs Manju Abraham, Mrs Reena Susan Philip, Mrs Vincy Joji, and Mrs Jancy Biju Thomas, shared their cherished memories and words of appreciation. As a tangible expression of love and gratitude, a special gift from the Women’s Fellowship was presented to Achen and Kochamma by Mrs Mercy Anil, and a commemorative memento was formally presented by Mrs Deepa Ajish and Mrs Jancy Biju Thomas. In their reply speech, both Achen and Kochamma expressed their sincere thanks, noting that they had truly enjoyed their three-year tenure and the deep bonds of friendship formed within the Sharjah Parish.
Following the speeches, Mrs Jancy Biju Thomas delivered the vote of thanks, acknowledging everyone’s efforts in organising this sweet send-off. The event then reached a touching moment as the Women’s Fellowship members dedicated a special song, “Kaanum vare ini naam thammil”, as a musical gift for our beloved Achen and Kochamma. The formal meeting concluded with a closing prayer and benediction by Rev. Sunil Raj Philip, followed by a lovely photo session with the Women’s Fellowship members and WF committee members. The program ended on a joyful note with refreshments served to all attendees, marking a beautiful memory of the faithful service of Achen and Kochamma.
