Day 3: Theme – God’s WiFi, Always Online with God
Day Theme – No Dead Zones
Bible Verse: 1 Kings 19:9-16
On the third day of the VSS 2025 of CSI Parish, Sharjah, we had love feast in which everybody brought food and snacks for others and shared in the classes.
In 1 Kings 19:9-16, the story of Elijah’s encounter with God unfolds. Elijah, after fleeing from Queen Jezebel, finds himself in a cave, feeling isolated and defeated. He is searching for guidance and God’s presence. The Lord instructs Elijah to stand on the mountain, where a powerful wind, earthquake, and fire pass by, but the Lord is not in any of these. Finally, after these dramatic events, Elijah hears a gentle whisper—the voice of God. This gentle whisper reassures Elijah that God is always near, even when the circumstances seem overwhelming.
The passage emphasizes that God’s presence isn’t always loud and forceful, but sometimes, it comes in a quiet and subtle manner. Despite the noise and distractions of life, we must remain attentive to God’s gentle whisper. Elijah’s experience reminds us that there are no “dead zones” in our connection with God. Just as we rely on strong Wi-Fi for communication in the modern world, we must recognize that God’s presence is constant, and He is always “online,” ready to communicate with us, even in the quietest moments.
Mime Performance: To illustrate this theme, the volunteers performed a mime that depicted the modern use of mobile phones and technology. They highlighted the contrast between our constant connectivity through Wi-Fi and mobile data, and how we sometimes miss the subtle, quiet presence of God due to distractions. The mime emphasized that just as we depend on technology for connection, we should also be aware of God’s constant presence, which requires a shift from “no signal” moments to always being “connected” with Him, without any “dead zones.”
Songs & Classes: The event also featured songs that echoed the theme of being always connected with God, despite the distractions around us. The classes focused on teaching participants how to be more aware of God’s presence in their daily lives and to recognize His voice amidst the noise of the world. Practical ways to stay connected with God were discussed, such as through prayer, meditation, and quiet moments of reflection, similar to tuning into a spiritual signal that is never lost or unavailable.
In conclusion, Day 3 was a powerful reminder that God’s connection with us is unwavering, and we must remain attentive and responsive to His voice, even in the midst of life’s distractions. There are truly no “dead zones” in our relationship with God.
