Kanivu 2024: A Project that Comforts Cancer Patients

The Kanivu project, which was previously conducted under the leadership of the Almaya Fellowship, was successfully conducted this year under the name ‘Kanivu 2024’. This project made it possible to help needy cancer patients. To raise funds for this, an evening of music ensemble was organized under the leadership of the famous choir ‘Joyful Singers’ based in Dubai. From hundreds of applications received from six CSI Mahayadaka members in Kerala and even people of all castes and religions who are not members of the church, 60 deserving patients were able to be financially assisted. Special thanks are extended to ‘Joyful Singers’ and its director, Mr. Anush David, who helped to organize a musical evening on May 25th at CSI Parish, Sharjah, to raise funds without taking any remuneration. Mr Varghese P. Sam and Mr Renji Thomas Mathew, who acted as the conveners of the program, have done a commendable job. A special word of thanks to Mr. Sabu Mathew and Mr. Lal Cherian for providing mementoes to the distinguished guests who participated in the event.

Dr. Zaidoon Abdul of Burjeel Hospital, Abu Dhabi, gave a cancer awareness speech during the musical programme. Mr. Riyaz Kilton, Chairman, Hope Cancer Care Foundation, attended as the guest of honor.
