23rd UAE CSI Women’s Fellowship Conference hosted by All Saints CSI Parish, Jebel Ali, Dubai
The 23rd UAE CSI Women’s Fellowship Conference was hosted by All Saints CSI Parish, Jebel Ali on Saturday, 14th October 2023 at the Arbor School, Jebel Ali. The theme for the Conference was “She Rises” based on Proverbs 31:15.
The 23rd UAE CSI Women’s Fellowship Conference was hosted by All Saints CSI Parish, Jebel Ali on Saturday, 14th October 2023 at the Arbor School, Jebel Ali. The theme for the Conference was ‘She Rises’ based on Proverbs 31:15.
Around 150 members from Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Jebel Ali and Al Ain participated in the event. The programme was blessed with video messages from our bishop Rt. Rev. Dr Malayil Sabu Koshy Cherian, and Dr Jessy Sara Kochamma (Women’s Fellowship President) The conference was inaugurated by Rev. Raju Jacob. The theme was presented by Rev. Jijo Varghese (Youth Chaplain for Dubai & Sharjah) and Mrs. Saumya Jijo (Kochamma), who pointed out that as women we have a great power of influence and we have a responsibility, and we need to be careful in how we carry out that responsibility in our homes and society. Illustrations of various Bible characters such as Jezebel, the first woman – Eve, women at the cross, the woman who saw the risen Lord first – Mary Magdalene, and the first convert Lydia were effectively used by the speakers to elucidate their points.
Rev. Charles M. Jeril and Mrs Leslie Veena Jeril (All Saints CSI Parish, Jebel Ali & CSI Parish Al Ain), Rev. Raju Jacob & Mrs Molly Jacob (CSI Parish Dubai), Rev. Sunil Raj Philip & Mrs Nivi Susan George (CSI Parish Sharjah) and Rev. Lalji M. Philip & Mrs Emy Mariyamma Abraham (CSI Parish Abu Dhabi) attended and blessed the event. The hosting parish supported the Thabitha project of CSI MKD and opted for sarees from Thabitha for the day.
The theme song ‘Uyaroo nee uyaroo’ was presented by the hosting parish. All attending parishes actively participated in a talent presentation programme and the games session. Offertory was collected to support the CSI Odisha Mission project to empower women through their tailoring unit.
The team of CSI Parish Sharjah, consisting of 25 members attended the conference and performed a dance during the cultural events.
