UAE CSI Youth Kalamela 2024: A Celebration of Talent and Unity

UAE CSI Youth Kalamela 2024 was hosted by Sharjah Parish

The UAE Youth Kalamela 2024 was successfully held on November 16th at the CSI Parish Sharjah. Hosted by the CSI Parish Sharjah, the event brought together around 170 talented young participants from all four churches in the UAE: Abudhabi, Dubai Jebel Ali, and Sharjah.

The event commenced with an opening prayer by Rev. Charles M. Jeril, Vicar of CSI Parish Jebel Ali, followed by a warm welcome from Joshi Vincent, UAE Youth Joint Secretary. Rev. Sunil Raj Philip, Vicar of CSI Parish Sharjah and President of the UAE Youth Movement, delivered the presidential address and inaugurated the Kalamela.

The day was filled with a variety of competitions, including individual events like singing, organ recital, extempore, fancy dress, mono act and group performances. Additionally, the written and drawing events were conducted online on November 3rd through a Zoom platform, monitored centrally by the host parish.

As the event drew to a close, Subin Stephen, the UAE Kalamela Convenor, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all participants, judges, volunteers, church committee, members from all the church organisations and above all the Almighty Lord for the successful conduct of Kalamela. The event concluded with the distribution of trophies and medals to the winners and a closing prayer by Rev. Biju Kunjummen Achen, Vicar of CSI Parish Abu Dhabi.

The Kalamela 2024 was not just a competition but a celebration of youth talent, unity, and fellowship. It provided a platform for young people to showcase their skills, connect with peers, and create lasting memories.
