Adventure in Faith: Sunday School Camp ‘Revibe! 2025’ Inspires Resilience and Spiritual Growth

The Second Sunday School Summer Camp Revibe! 2025, held from 4–6 September at Absolute Adventure Camp, Kalba, was a memorable and faith-enriching experience for our children. This year, we have conducted the camp in association with the Indian Christian Camp Association, led by their facilitators Esther Emil Robin and Rukhetuolie Theunuo. This year, a total of 78 students aged between 11 – 22 years and 25 mentors/teachers, including two seasoned medical professionals, attended the camp.

Camp Revibe! 2025 began with an online introductory training session for teachers and mentors on August 31. On September 3, a chain prayer was held from 6 AM to 8:30 PM, fostering purpose and togetherness among participants. The day concluded with an engaging in-person orientation session between mentors and facilitators at 9:30 PM.

Day 1 :
September 4 marked D-Day, as the journey to camp began at 6:30 PM from SWC with arrival at Kalba Camp by 8 PM. Following a safety briefing by the Absolute Adventure Team, room allocations and a hearty dinner, Day 1 culminated with an official inauguration, worship, and icebreaker , oath-taking of mentors around a vibrant campfire, setting a joyful and interactive atmosphere for the days ahead. The students were committed by an air-sign to a full value contract “DON’T DISCOUNT” from –“ Self, Others, Word of God, Activities, follow-up actions”. The contract helps to create an environment to learn and receive the experiences from the programme.

Day 2  :
The contract was reinstated by signing off by the kids. Featuring a variety of fun and faith-building activities through experiential learning, where students were taught important lessons on resilience and recognition, helping them deepen their understanding of faith in practical ways. They also engaged in fun-filled water sports/activities like kayaking and crab-hunting, followed by a debriefing of what these activities meant in real-life situations.

Day 3:
Concluded with a time of altar call worship, reflection, and a challenge for the participants to remain rooted in God’s Word and to live out their faith beyond the camp.

The camp provided a meaningful opportunity for young people to grow in fellowship, strengthen their spiritual foundation, and be inspired to walk boldly in their Christian journey.

Earlier, a Sunday School Summer Carnival was organised as a fund-raising event for our Sunday School Camp this year. This exciting event was a first of its kind, which featured a Food Sale with a variety of delicious food items, Talent presentations by Sunday School and ex-students, and various fun and game counters for everyone to enjoy. The Lord has graciously blessed this event, and we were able to raise AED 11,803.00

We, the Sunday School team, are greatly indebted to our Vicar, Rev. Sunil Raj Philip, along with Kochamma Mrs Nivi Susan George, for their steady presence and guidance. Our heartfelt gratitude extends to the devoted parents who entrusted us with their children, the students who participated with such enthusiasm, and to the mentors & teachers who gave their time and energy wholeheartedly. We sincerely appreciate the efforts of Mr. Renchi Mathew for designing the most apt logo in line with the theme of the camp. We are equally thankful to the generous donors whose contributions made the camp possible and to the church committee for their invaluable support throughout. And above all, the Lord Almighty for His presence and grace, resulting in another blessed camp experience for our children.
