The spirit of Christian unity was on full display in Sharjah as the CSI and Mar Thoma Churches came together to celebrate Unity Sunday. The initial service was hosted by the Mar Thoma Parish, Sharjah, on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at 8:00 AM, underscoring the strong ecumenical ties among the sister churches.
The service, conducted in accordance with the CSI Order of Worship, was led by Rev. Sunil Raj Philip, Vicar of the CSI Parish, Sharjah. Rev. Sunil delivered a compelling sermon centred on the unifying scriptural theme, “Vine and Branches,” emphasising the shared connection of all Christians to Christ, regardless of denominational background.
The Holy Communion Service served as a powerful testament to the shared faith, featuring clergy from both participating denominations as co-celebrants. Rev. Binsu Philip, Vicar of the Mar Thoma Church, Sharjah, and Rev. Wilson Varghese, Assistant Vicar, joined Rev. Sunil at the altar.
The liturgy was significantly enhanced by the musical contribution of the Sharjah CSI Parish Choir, which led the congregation in hymns. Meanwhile, the successful coordination of the large-scale joint event was credited to the diligent efforts of the CSI Church Committee members.
