Sharjah CSI Parish Youth hosts 30th CSI UAE Youth Conference – A Day of Faith and Fellowship
The 30th CSI UAE Youth Conference was held on Saturday, 4th October, at CSI Sharjah Parish, bringing together youths from CSI parishes across the UAE for a blessed day of spiritual reflection, fellowship, and worship. The theme, “Little Things – God Uses Us to Do the Biggest Miracles,” emphasized the importance of small acts of faith and obedience in fulfilling God’s greater purposes.
The theme message was delivered by Rev. Ribin John (Executive Secretary – Ecumenical Fora, NCCI), who spoke powerfully from Matthew 13:31 (The Parable of the Mustard Seed) and Luke 2 (The Birth of Jesus). Through his inspiring sermon, he reminded the gathering that God can use even the smallest actions to accomplish great things. Reflecting on the mustard seed, he highlighted how faith, though small at first, can grow and influence many when rooted in God’s grace. Drawing lessons from the humble birth of Jesus, he emphasised that divine greatness often begins with simple, seemingly insignificant beginnings.
To make the session more engaging and reflective, participants were divided into smaller groups for interactive activities. In one exercise, they wrote down personal dreams yet to be achieved and committed to pursuing them with faith and perseverance. This exercise beautifully complemented the theme, reminding everyone that every small step, when placed in God’s hands, can grow into something extraordinary.
The conference commenced with an opening prayer by Rev. Sunil Raj Philip (Vicar, CSI Sharjah Parish and President, CSI UAE Youth Movement). The welcome address was delivered by Mr. Noble Sam Price (Treasurer, UAE Youth Movement), and the formal opening was marked by the hoisting of the CSI UAE Youth Conference flag. The day’s proceedings were gracefully anchored by Mr. Mobin Thomas and Ms. Jincy Ann, whose warm and engaging presence ensured a smooth and lively flow of events.
A major highlight of the day was the uplifting Youth Chorus, led by Mr. Jilow J. R. and Mr. Ivin Koshy, whose melodious singing created a deeply spiritual atmosphere of praise and worship. The choir presented several inspiring songs, including the theme song “Chernnidaam Anichernidaam.” The morning session concluded with a group photograph and fellowship lunch, fostering unity and joyful interaction among participants.
The business session was chaired by Rev. Sunil Raj Philip, during which Mr. Obin K. Joseph, Convenor of the 30th CSI UAE Youth Conference, ceremoniously handed over the conference flag to Mr. Linju Oommen Jacob, Convenor of the upcoming 31st CSI UAE Youth Conference, to be hosted by the CSI Parish Abu Dhabi.
Before the closing prayer, Mr. Obin K. Joseph expressed heartfelt thanks. He extended gratitude to Rev. Ribin John for his inspiring sessions that reminded everyone of the power of faith in even the smallest actions, and to Rev. Sunil Raj Philip for his constant guidance and support. He thanked all volunteers and members of the Youth Movement Committee, whose tireless efforts behind the scenes ensured the smooth flow of the program. Mr. Obin also appreciated all participants from Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Jebel Ali, Al Ain, and Dubai for their enthusiasm, energy, and fellowship. He noted that every contribution, big or small, reflected the conference theme: “Little Things – God Uses Us to Do the Biggest Miracles.”
The conference concluded with a heartfelt closing prayer by Rev. Charles Mathew Jeril, sending all participants forth inspired to live out their faith through even the smallest acts of service.”
