Sunday School Teachers’ Retreat 2026

The first Sunday School teachers’ retreat for the year was held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, immediately after the divine service at 11 am. It was a meaningful session led by Mrs. Swapna David. The retreat provided teachers with an opportunity to reflect deeply on their vocation as Sunday School teachers and to renew their commitment to the God-given responsibility of nurturing and shaping young lives entrusted to their care. It served as a time of spiritual renewal, encouraging teachers to align their calling with divinity in the ministry of teaching God’s word.

Centered on the theme “Moulded to Mould” (to strive, to seek, to find and not to yield) drawn from Jeremiah 18:4 – “So the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him”- the session ¦guided the teachers through three reflective stages: understanding themselves as the potter, discerning the nature of the clay, and embracing the sacred task of moulding. Each stage emphasised the importance of humility, patience, and wisdom in the teaching mission.

Teachers were reminded that effective moulding begins with self-awareness and a deep understanding of each child, acknowledging both strengths and imperfections, much like the impurities within clay. By building trust and seeking God’s guidance, the teachers are first moulded by Him, and in turn, become instruments in His hands to shape young hearts and minds with wisdom, love, and faith.
